Do you know how many surface treatment technologies there are for stainless steel storage tanks?
There are three surface treatment technologies for stainless steel storage tanks:①Surface whitening treatment;②Surface mirror bright treatment;③Surface coloring treatment.
1. Surface whitening treatment:
During the processing of stainless steel, black oxide scale is produced after coiling, edging, welding or artificial surface roasting and heating.
At present, there are two main methods for treating oxide scale:
⑴ Sand blasting (shot) method:
It mainly uses the method of spraying micro glass beads to remove the black oxide scale on the surface.
⑵ Chemical method:
Dip using a pickling passivation paste and a cleaning solution with inorganic additives. This complies with the purpose of whitening treatment of the original color of stainless steel. After treatment, it basically looks like a dull color. This method is more suitable for large and complex products.
2. Surface mirror brightening treatment method:
Depending on the complexity of stainless steel products and user requirements, mechanical polishing, chemical polishing, electrochemical polishing and other methods can be used to achieve mirror gloss.
3. Surface coloring treatment:
Stainless steel coloring not only gives stainless steel products various colors, increases the variety of products, but also improves the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the products.
Stainless steel coloring methods include the following:
⑴Chemical oxidation coloring method:
The color of the film is formed through chemical oxidation in a specific solution, including dichromate method, mixed sodium salt method, vulcanization method, acidic oxidation method and alkaline oxidation method. General Incomethod (INCO) is used more often, but if you want to ensure that a batch of products have consistent color, you need to use a reference electrode to control it.
⑵Electrochemical coloring method:
It is the color of the film formed through electrochemical oxidation in a specific solution.
⑶ Ion deposition oxide coloring method Chemical method:
It means placing the stainless steel workpiece in a vacuum coating machine for vacuum evaporation plating. For example: titanium-plated watch cases and watch straps are generally gold. This method is suitable for high-volume product processing. Because of the large investment and high cost, small batch products are not cost-effective.
⑷High temperature oxidation coloring method:
It is to immerse the workpiece in a specific molten salt and maintain it at specific process parameters, so that the workpiece forms an oxide film of a specific thickness and shows various colors.
⑸Vapor phase cracking coloring method:
It is more complex and less used in industry. Treatment method selection Which method to use for stainless steel surface treatment depends on the product structure, material, and different requirements for the surface. The appropriate method should be selected for treatment.
