In large cases, the transfer rate depends on the mass transfer area of ​​the gas-liquid phase, that is to say, it depends on the size of the bubbles and the residence time of the bubbles. The smaller and more dispersed the bubbles, the more abundant the microorganisms can obtain oxygen.
       As much as possible, the microorganisms can obtain sufficient oxygen and nutrients in the culture medium everywhere in the tank. In addition, good stirring is conducive to the transfer of heat generated during the microbial fermentation process to the cooling tubes and the cooling inner surface of the fermentation tank. This is why equipment with ventilation and stirring is commonly used in biochemical engineering.
