Analysis of corrosion causes of stainless steel carbon steel storage tanks

1The surface corrosion of stainless steel and carbon steel storage tanks is due to the surface contact with air. The environment near the equipment is generally petrochemical equipment. Industrial air contains some harmful substances. Due to adsorption function, cooling function or rainy weather, water vapor or precipitation in the air produces shrinkage water on the surface of the equipment. This water will dissolve acids, alkalis, salts and other residues, which will bring about the effects of the lithium battery electrolyte and make the metal surface produce an electrochemical reaction. Because the electrolyte layer of lithium batteries is very thin, the surface electrochemical reaction is relatively mild, and the corrosion is also very uniform. However, more obvious local corrosion will occur in the tank recesses, welding recesses, areas where the insulation layer is prone to water penetration, the connection between the wind-resistant ring and the tank, and other areas where water is likely to accumulate.
2, there are two key corrosion locations in the tank cavity, which are the bottom welding point and the upward direction.0-300mmWithin the scope of the tank and the fluctuations of the material level gauge(That is, around the gas boundary conditions). The moisture of the residue in the material accumulates for a long time, resulting in water retention in the tank, because the axis of the drainage pipe is generally about 30 meters higher than the inside of the tank.300mm, therefore, there is always200mm-300mmThe presence of water, and the accumulated water contains many components, which produce a strong acidity and alkalinity of the solution, causing electrochemical reactions and causingStainless steel carbon steel storage tankThere is obvious partial erosion at the root of the inner cavity.
At the undulations of the tank level gauge, due to the difference in oxygen content in the material and in the climate space above the material, oxygen concentration differences may occur and cause corrosion. Underscale corrosion can also occur due to the accumulation of sediment caused by frequent changes in the liquid level in the wet zone. During the loading and unloading process of stainless steel storage tanks, the changes and stirring functions of the liquid level gauge accelerate these two types of corrosion.
3, Erosion of the bottom of the tank, one side of the bottom of the tank is in contact with the material, and one side is in contact with the soil. The material side of the tank bottom is generally more severely corroded than the wall panels, and sometimes it can even corrode holes and cause leakage. This kind of corrosion mainly comes from the precipitated water in the tank. Nitrogen compounds, oxygen and other chemical substances in the accumulated water will react with the metal materials, causing an electrochemical reaction. In addition, at the point where raw materials are introduced, partial abrasion is likely to occur due to liquid flushing. The vertical pole may rub and vibrate with the bottom plate under normal conditions such as filling, harvesting, and fluid movement. This type of mechanical damage combined with ductile fracture can cause erosion and holes in the bottom plate under the vertical pole.
